The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation Firefighter Life Safety Initiatives Program Seal of Excellence Award is presented to an individual or group, or fire, rescue, EMS department that demonstrates the commitment to the 16 Firefighter Life Safety Initiatives, commitment to firefighter health and safety and for its contribution to reducing the number of firefighter line-of-duty deaths and injuries.

Be a Hero, Save a Hero®

Be a Hero, Save a Hero® is a community risk reduction program with the goal of helping to keep families, the community and your firefighters safe. Everyone plays a role in a community’s safety and the public can help their local firefighters by participating in Be a Hero, Save a Hero®. Although there are many components of a community risk reduction program, the first spotlight for Be a Hero, Save a Hero deals is on protecting people and property from the effects of smoke and fire.
