Springwater Fire & Emergency Services - Township of Springwater, Ontario, Canada


The Springwater Fire & Emergency Services, made up of 90 volunteer firefighters operating out of 4 fire stations, is located approximately 1 hour north of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Township of Springwater has a population of approximately 18,000 and borders on the City of Barrie, Ontario, Canada.

The Fire Chief, Deputy Chief, Fire Prevention Officer, Training Officer, Administrative Assistant and firefighters issue Fire Permits, conduct inspections to ensure compliance with the Fire Protection and Prevention Act, provides fire safety training and oversees the Emergency Plan.

Springwater Fire & Emergency Services is committed to the Everyone Goes Home® program. Steps they have taken to follow the initiatives include: speed limiters on fire apparatus (110 km/h or 66 mph); 100% compliance for "Buckle Up for Safety;" all fire apparatus has "Buckle-up" on the dash as a reminder; and any time the fire apparatus leaves the station that all "buckled up" must be announced on the radio to fire dispatch.
